Chapter: COMICS

This comic was inspired by true events. Recently I’ve been trying out stand-up comedy. My most recent outing was an interesting experience to say the least. I recorded everything I said, but I ended up getting so flustered midway through that it’s somewhat unwatchable. So enjoy these one-liners. They may not have gotten many laughs, but I like ‘em.

I have virtually no idea what I'm talking about, know that. BUT your delivery is pretty bad…and it seems that you're too informal with the audience. You've got to keep some wall between the two. Also, last one was pretty bad.

Yes the last joke is terrible on its own, but even needlessly racist comments have their place if you warm the audience up to them before the pitch. Take notes from Daniel Tosh's stand up. He seems to bask in the confidence of his opinion, and for him it somehow makes him more funny than offensive.

I also stumbled to the 5~min of stand-up you posted (somewhere x.x). It had some lulls, but certainly good content. When starting out, five minutes is a *lot* of material to string together. Snazzy =o

kudos for trying at all. not the worst I’ve seen, but definitely need to be more confidant and see if you can segue your jokes better.

for the noose one to work you have to assume they were usually used when racism was a factor. which might be true, but personally I think of westerns as much as any thing else.
